Samuel S. Caldwell scrapbooks, 1918-1950 (bulk 1932-1937).

Scrapbooks consist mainly of newspaper clippings documenting Caldwell's elections and activities and accomplishments as mayor of Shreveport. In addition to local matters, there are clippings pertaining to Governor Richard W. Leche and to political campaigns including those for James H. Davis, Overton Brooks, and others. Three of the scrapbooks are indexed. The first photograph, dated 1918, is a black and white interior view of the Accounting Department of Gulf Refining Company with Caldwell in the center. The second photograph, dated 1950, is a black and white bust of Caldwell. The third photograph is a black and white image of Caldwell speaking.
